After all suitable
components are chosen, the next step is using a special machine to roast them. In
Quynh Vy Paintings, we do not dye the rice but roast it only, therefore, the
paintings’ main colors will be yellow-white and black depends on the changing
of the color change of rice after being roasted.
Next step is to “paint”
the rice by arranging rice seeds neatly and carefully into a wooden frame and stick
them with a special kind of glue created by Quynh Vy Paintings. This step is
considered as the hardest step since patience, artistry knowledge and skillful
are needed. Lastly, the painting will be through the chemical processing in
order to prevent insects, parasite and to maintain the beauty and colors of the
rice paintings through the time.
